If you asked me when I was 17 I would tell you that all I did in the summer was try to get darker and darker! It was almost as if, if you didn’t go back to school 2 shades darker that meant you didn’t have fun that summer. I always went PAL(ER) than when I left!Fast forward to NOW, about 10 plus years later, I can honestly say that all I do now is worry about how much SPF is in my SUNCREEN. Coming from New York to Florida, this first year was the worst (I would Say…….) I’d get a tan just by taking out the garbage. I knew nothing about protecting my skin. I trusted my BFF GOOGLE (Ummmmm I DONT CARE HOW OLD YOU ARE, BUT GOOGLE IS YOUR BFF!! 3 kids later and I still count on GOOGLE for EVERYYYYYYYYYYTHING!) to find a lotion that also had SPF in it that I could wear daily to protect me from the sun.
It’s ALWAYS Sunny In Florida
Being that it’s always sunny in Florida, when I had MJ I set out to figure out which sunscreen would be the best to protect her skin as well. I went with AVEENO. After AVEENO, I never turned back! . Four years later and here I am, an avid user of Aveeno EVERYTHING!!!!
So lets just talk about how my days go by!
First off since the new baby, I’m up from basically midnight to, ummmm ALL NIGHT! Since my husband works, we take turns. I’m up all night and he takes the baby in the morning. I only get about 2-3 hours of sleep but for me thats sufficient. Although I’m EXHAUSTED I still have to remember that I also have a 2 year old. SO I have to juggle her time, with the babies time and Jaiden’s time…
Well on days where I am SUPER EXHAUSTED, I just plan the simplest SUMMERY THING to do, which is, pop up a small pool and call it a day! I bring out some hot dogs, some buns, some ices, and the kids are super happy! Who doesn’t like playing with water?
My biggest concern when it comes to being outside is the fact that since I live in FLORIDA, it’s ALWAYS SUNNY! But to be honest, there’s no way in hell that I can just be indoors , all day with 3 kids! So I improvise….I think of any and EVERY excuse to take us outside!
After breakfast, I fill up a tiny pool I have for MJ, grill some hot dogs for lunch and occasionally take out some popsicles and or fruit. Not only is she having tons of fun but ummm helloooooooo she’s getting tired which means more NAP TIME! It’s hard to escape the sun, but I’m glad I’ve found my go to sunscreen from Aveeno! Not only do I trust it enough for me but I trust it enough for MJ as well!
Let’s start with :

- It’s a lightweight formula that doesn’t leave the baby’s skin feeling sticky or greasy.
- It’s also non-irritating and lasts 80 minutes
And lets not forget about US, MOMS ….it’s ok to take care of the babies but we also need to take care of ourselves too! that’s why I trust :
AVEENO® PROTECT + HYDRATE® Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 & 70 –
- Not only is it dermatologist recommended,
- It also provides 24-hr skin hydration, not only against chlorine but also, salt water and sweat!
